Hi, I am the owner of this group. Thanks to everyone for joining this group! This is a new group i just created few days ago and I could never predict such a great outcome as this!!! Anyways, this group is intended for discussions about math, so keep talking, ppl, and have fun. I am currently in junior high school and therefore I have to admit that my math knowledge is very limited, therefore I am looking forward to be learning new things from each of u. Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's have sumthign to discuss. For example:

1. Why is the formula for the sum of an infinite geometric sequence can only be used for sequences that have common difference between negative one and one?

This is a math problem i can't get:

2. Two boxes each contain 4 cupcakes. One box has 3 chocolate and 1 vanilla, and the other box has 2 chocolate and 2 vanilla. A box is randomly selected, opened, and a cupcake is randomly selected. This first cupcake is vanilla. If one more cupcake is randomly selected from the same box, what is the probability that it will be vanillla?

the proof for 1=2

let a=b
therefore,
a*b=b*b
or, ab=bb
or, ab-a*a=bb-a*a
or, a(b-a)=(b+a)(b-a)
cancel out (b-a) on both sides
so, a=b+a
or, a-a=b
or,0=b
or,0+b=b+b
or,b=2b
cancel out b on both side,
or, 1=2.
proved.

dear Anwesha,
take it positively.

the proof for 1=2

let a=b
therefore,
a*b=b*b
or, ab=bb
or, ab-a*a=bb-a*a
or, a(b-a)=(b+a)(b-a)
cancel out (b-a) on both sides
so, a=b+a
or, a-a=b
or,0=b
or,0+b=b+b
or,b=2b
cancel out b on both side,
or, 1=2.
proved.
THE EXTENSION
thus we can proove
n=n+1 here.
let's start from
0=b
add 2b both the side
so, 2b=3b
cancel out b from both the side
so, 2=3.
and so on.....
n=n+1
prooved.
THE FAULT OF THIS THEORY.
the theory has been started with the assumption
a=b
so, a and b already has different value.
nothing great to proove 1=2.
but if u start from taking assumption of
a=a or b=b and then u proove 1=2,
then u r really great.
and waiting for the new discovery.
all the best.
